A celebrant writes and leads the ceremony. In Bali that is usually symbolic: vows, readings and a ring exchange. Legal marriage in Indonesia is a separate process with different paperwork. Can a celebrant legally marry us in Bali?
Often the Bali ceremony is symbolic, and the legal marriage happens in your home country or through a separate civil process. Ask each celebrant what they are qualified to do. Do not treat a listing title as legal advice.
Do we need a celebrant if the resort provides one?
Some hotels include an in-house celebrant in a package. That can be convenient. It may also be a short standard script. If the words matter, compare that option with an independent celebrant from this directory before you sign the hotel package.
Will a celebrant travel between Bali areas?
Many will. Uluwatu, Nusa Dua, Seminyak and Ubud are common jobs. Travel time and a possible fee depend on the date and where they are based. Put it in the enquiry.
